Our truly magnificent, antique epergne centerpiece measuring an impressive 20 1/4 inches tall and 21 inches wide and deep is crafted from silverplated brass with molded and cut glass dishes, and features the engraved. Apparently unsigned, we do not know its maker. Believed to date from the mid to late 19th century. It was recently polished and shows light scratches and some abrasions. There are some slight bends to the four foliate shaped arms. Many of the cut glass dishes have small chip losses at the rim. Center bowl has an old insert of lead and spikes to hold upright flowers, plus a layer of green "floral foam" as it's called that generally replaced the use of lead and spikes after its introduction in the 1950s.
